How do I extend the life of my existing roof?
Maintaining a healthy roof is important for homeowners who want to increase the value of their home, while avoiding unnecessary roof replacement costs.
Leaky Roof
Sadly, roof leaks are often a sign of a larger problem. Left unaddressed, a roof leak can cause permanent structural damage and molding that won’t be visible until it becomes a serious problem. Roof leaks can be characterized by dark spots or sagging sections of interior ceiling. From the exterior, leaks can be spotted by looking for warped or “peeling” shingles, clogged or slow draining gutters, or by loose shingles around a chimney or vent.
Skylight Repair
Skylights are an absolute must in our rainy Oregon weather! However, Skylights can be tricky for homeowners. Signs that you need to replace your Skylight include: Warping, cracking, leaks, and natural aging (more than 10 years old).
Roof Inspections
During our roof inspections, we look at Structure, Materials, Interior & Exterior wear, and Workmanship around skylights, chimneys, and other landmarks. After a careful inspection of your roof our Lead Foreman, Josh, will provide a detailed report to be used to value your home during an appraisal, or simply to ensure that your roof measures up to code.
Moss Damage
Moss loves our Oregon weather. Left untreated, moss will store moisture in the space between shingles causing permanent warping and rot. If roof moss growth is caught early, a simple cleaning and light repair can solve the issue.
Fallen Tree Repair
Tree damage is one of the Pacific Northwest’s most common reasons for a damaged roof. Fivecoat will work with your insurance company to make sure that the damage caused will be as painless as possible.
