Sadly, roof leaks are often a sign of a larger problem. Left unaddressed, a roof leak can cause permanent structural damage and molding that won’t be visible until it becomes a serious problem. Roof leaks can be characterized by dark spots or sagging sections of interior ceiling. From the exterior, leaks can be spotted by looking for warped or “peeling” shingles, clogged or slow draining gutters, or by loose shingles around a chimney or vent.
